typewriter earrings

It all began when I opened a key to clean under the glass. Once I had taken it apart I realized that I could fill it with anything. Later, I found out that typewriter repairmen used to open up a single key and put their name on it so the next time you needed a repair you would know who to call. (if you see me at a show just ask me to show you the one key I have like that.)

Well, now I have a place to put all my favorite words. The earrings are simple and elegant, embellished with black and white pearls and sterling silver. Most are $38. a pair. The ones which are more heavily embellished, like MAC + PC, SAVE + DELETE range in price from $40-$54, depending upon their how much embellishment they have—RICH + FAMOUS has a raw diamond on RICH! ($54) There are more than are pictured—just ask me or visit me at a show. I also make earring/pendant sets. Some sets not pictured: REDUCE + REUSE + RECYCLE; YES + NO + MAYBE; HO + HO+ HO; BLAH + BLAH + BLAH; ROCK + PAPER+ SCISSOR; LEFT + RIGHT + CENTER.

Also, I can make cufflinks and any special wording you can think of. Just let me know. If you plan to order for any special occasion, please leave me enough time (2 weeks). If you have any questions or would like to make a purchase contact me by phone (732.219.0709) or email me.
I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express by phone only.

history of typewriters

The typewriter is one of the great inventions of 19th Century communications technology. The first patent was granted in London in 1714 to an engineer called Henry Mill. Earlier attempts had been made to create writing machines, particularly as a means for blind people to communicate. There were several more or less succesful attempts at building typewriters, particularly in the United States (Burt - 1829); (Francis - 1859), but also in Europe where an Austrian carpenter (Mitterhofer) and a Danish clergyman (Hansen) literally wrote history. However, it was Christopher Latham Sholes, who gave the world the 'typewriter' as well as the 'qwerty' keyboard, produced by the Remington factory in Ilion, New York.
